Or maybe the city of Dothan in Alabama could have its own top-level domain: .DOT . It meets the criteria of having a larger population than tiny Pacific Islands.
Scotland is not a country. Now excuse me while I sneak away and put on my flame proof underwear. PS: I still like .gae for Gaelic.
I'll just assume that all this "scotland isnt a country" malarky is coming from the English fraternity here..... (that we not only defeated to amalgamate the british isles, but are better at in football..... ) -
I am from Lithuania my country have .lt i think Scotland must have .so .sl the 3 character extension to long !!
.co.uk is for the UK though, im not aware that its only for england. .co.uk is ample for Britain, no need to break it up, its already a small island and we no longer have the empire. If you scots think were letting you break away from us too, you have another think coming. We send loads of tax money up there anyway, were not having you waste it on domains, especially with extensions like .gae
so you think that scotland gets loads of tax money. it was written in a newspaper a few months ago that scotland comes THIRD in money per person. london 1st, ireland 2nd. i dont want .gae. thats just .gay! the uk is always reffered as england. most .uk domains are registered in england anyway. why would the parliament spend money on a domain? its not up to them. its up to the domain registrars
There's several .CO.UK domains which I'd love that are being used by Scottish sites. If you get involved in the legal side of creating .SCO, can you negotiate with Nominet so all Scottish residents and businesses are banned from having .UK domains so the ones I want get suspended and I can dropcatch them?
We don't need another domain extention, plus the .sco extention does look a bit weird considering most extentions are 2 letters, eg. .us
While we're on the subject of UK country domains, there's also a campaign for a .cym Welsh TLD ... the misspelt porn domain opportunities are many!
