So I know that to change my individual CPC on each each key word I need to enable Display Network distribution on my campaign settings page, so that I dont end up with the default of max bid being distributed between all of the key words.
Question. Where is this Display Network bids?! I'm on my campaign settings page and cannot find it anywhere! I understand how valuable GoogleAdWords are to our business but it is laid out in such way that I just get lost!! Please help :)

Click the ad groups tab and set it from there.

Yep, that's where you set it. Note that it is highly recommended that you keep your search and display network campaigns separate.

Thats great, So I have altered a few keywords max CPC to use as a trial. The results are that the clicks have dropped and the cost has sored. Is this normal? I could do with some advise on the best way to optimise the CPC budget, if you know? Thank you.
