Hey all, Curious question.... I had an AdWords campaign slapped up and I wanted to fix this by creating separate landing pages based on each keyword as a way to re-targeting and getting a good QS again. Now, I plan to do this via a whole new campaign. My question is ... should I be doing this in a new campaign or just implement the fixes in the old, currently running (but slapped) campaign. My fear of switching to a new campaign is that a NEW campaign history is not as good as this one in terms of CTRs of course. Furthermore, the question begs ... is there even the existence of a "campaign history" kind of like account history factors. Google can be evasive of real answers so I'm asking all the folks here at Digitalpoint for an experienced adwords opinion. Thanks a ton!
A new campaign is better than a slapped one... Also, slaps are usually assigned at the url level, so no matter what LP changes you make your QS will not go back without a good fight. If domain name is not a major issue, also change the domain name before uploading all the changes...
Google remembers "keyword history" too so even if you make a new campaign, the keywords will still have to fight against their past.
thanks for the tips guys. robertpriolo, I know you recommend changing up the domain.... however previously I had a mismatched Display URL and Destination URL where I placed the merchant's URL as the display and my own url as the destination. My own URL was merely a re-direct to the merchant (yes, direct link basically)..... now in this case is Google penalizing the merchant page (real destination) or my landing redirect page (immediate destination)? In detail, my QS has a poor landing page quality it says, not keyword or ad match (CTR was great 3-5% on broads). I'd love to hear from your opinion. Appreciated.
Rob, I'll just build a real landing page with content then, instead of just re-directing. I hear it's easy to get a quick manual review if you are good with the rep. Any tips on rapport with these ever-so-secretive reps? They seem difficult after a few tries. I suppose it's 99% charm
You get dedicated reps once your spend gets closer to 50k or more per month If your with an agency, you get a rep through your agency of which only the agency employees can be in contact with... If spend is not that high, you wont get much attention or help, mostly just scripted answers and the run around
