As an example, perhaps... 1) post regularly - min. 10 posts monthly 2) post useful/interesting stuff - min. 3 likes (already in place) 3) obey forum rules - no warnings (as warnings expire, member status revert back to normal) 4) Transact in marketplace honestly - positive ratings Then calculate a weightage based on the above and give privileges accordingly. Maybe a tad too complicated? Not sure. Just throwing ideas out there.
I am in the Same boat as OP, I been member since 2006 and am On and off this site. I have 100% itrader Rating with 9 positive feebacks. Why didn't they take that into consideration when making that change. You would think I should have been automatically converted to Established Member. But now i can't even post in the market place
That's been discussed hundreds of times, the old itrader system was seriously flawed, people leaving itraders when no transaction took place etc..etc...totally unreliable.
How? The new feedback system can only be used if a transaction truly took place whereas iTrader could be placed at any time, including maliciously (which happened quite a few times). Don't worry, if you're remotely intelligent (have an IQ above monkey poo) you'll be able to get the two extra likes you need in no time. Good luck with it, mate.
Why is it ? Getting 3 likes is as easy as taking your next breath...and strangely it only seems flawed to those who don't have 3 measely likes or have nothing to contribute or are just generally miserable...and for those people there is premium membership
+1 Why should I participate actively in the life of the forum for the likes, if I am only interested marketplace section. This system leads only spammed forum. p.s. sorry for my bad english.
The main reason would be because the marketplace has always only been a benefit for contributing members of this site. How many likes do you think spammers get? lol
It is not fair Example i have old account and 100% many positive feedbacks, use your site JUST FOR buy/sell sites/links, and now without premium Account I can not continue their business.. is not fair..
Your choice, not mine... at least now there is an option that you *can* do that with premium membership (before it wasn't even an option).
