I kindly and humbly ask that members post constructive and positive replies please, I really cant take any more negative views on the subject below! I have done a drupal project for what seems to be an unappreciative client and wanted to find out how much you would have charged for the same kind of project because the client has just turned around and said...."is that all you are going to do for $3000", we were expecting much more for that kind of money. Lets bear in mind that until now they have been using a hosted CMS system which did 10% of what drupal does and were paying $200 per month for it so in effect I have just saved them $2400 per year as well as given them a great CMS which they basically now own and can manage themselves. Also their old site was only in ONE language, now its in seven! I think this post is more for my sanity than anything else. So this is what I have given them..... 1. Clean Fresh/Drupal Installation (Version 6.X) 2. Custom Drupal Theme (A graphic designer made the design and I PSD'd it into Drupal) 3. The web site is in English, Spanish, German, French, Dutch, Chinese and Russian and I have used the Internationalization module and Menu Translation modules. (so it could be in 100 other langauges too I guess) 4. The web site has 15 pages in each language and I have configured all the menus and installed all the pages for them (so I have created and configured 105 pages in drupal) as well as populated the html for the English version (they are to translate the rest of the site themselves) 5. The site is seo friendly using seo friendly urls. (I have used the page title, meta tags and path auto modules) 6. Installation of FCK Editor into the content editor 7. Made sure the site is compatible with all the latest browsers including IE6 (which has a known issue with Drupal) So people, how much would you charge for that lot and do you think I have overcharged for it? Has the client in your opinion received value for money? I have said to the client that 3 grand is cheap for what I have done, but they dont quite see it that way.
Hello Friend, The payment depends on the client, also from your post, it says that you did everything clear. But truely speaking i would have charged $600 for this. You must understand that payment is depends on client and may be decided by the country of the developer, i think indian developers charge less money. But nothing wrong with your work i hope.. Your project plan is detailed pretty good I think. What you need to next is to add cost for all the tasks you mentioned above and send it to customer. It would be much easier to deal with client after that. $3k is quite lots of money.
