We are almost at the All-Star break, the unofficial halfway point in the MLB season. Based on how teams have played so far who do you think will win the World Series and why? Okay, I'll go first Strange as it may sound, even to my own ears, the Tampa Bay Devil Rays might actually win it all this year. Early on I wrote them off as just having a good start this season, but at least for the first half - these guys are really good! There is just something magical that seems to happen when a club gels and the positive juices start flowing. Now for a National League pick - watch the Cardinals. After losing Edmonds, Rolen, and Eckstein, plus losing some of the pitching staff they were expected to be in a rebuilding mode this year. Once again, that team spirit is present and good things just seem to be happening on a regular basis for them.
Rays are in the lead, but I think the Sox are gonna take it again. The team has been on fire for the past four years or so...
Yeah, the Boston Red Sox are positioning themselves to be a dynasty team for the next few years. The Yankees have a lot of older players and at some point will have to enter a rebuilding phase whether Mr. S. is happy with it or not.
im rooting for the Cubs...i went to a game in Chicago a couple of weeks ago and had an AMAZING time. The city, fans, and most of all Steve Bartman deserve it.
