Calling affiliates with blogs - how do you get clicks?

As both a vendor and an affiliate, I'm interested in how you get your visitors to click on your hoplinks?

    Do you:

    • use banners?
    • put a text link call to action under every post?
    • blogroll links?

I'm especially curious to know if putting a text link under every post (like you would do with articles at ezinearticles) is OK i.e. you don't get penalised for it by Google? These would get way more clicks than banners.

My own contribution - something that has worked very well for me in the past is an ebook image with recommendation and text link call to action at the top of the page where the header would normally be (even above the header). I have gotten way more sales from here than from banners in the sidebar.

You may use all 3 points you mentioned. I usually put a small link that calls my website visitors to click for more information. I bet they click.

thanks waxman, do you pre-sell the product in your article?

Or do you concentrate and being as informative as possible and preselling only at the end? This is another dilemma I have............

    depending on the blog ...

for a more info style blog, at a minimum, i would have a call to action at the end of the article (exactly the same as an ezine resource box really) as well as the side bar links ...

for a more review style blog, i'll also have a call to action after the first introductory paragraph ... have never actually monitored which one people click on though ... maybe i should :D

For those doing a call to action at the end of each blog post on an info blog about the topic, how do you write it? Do write a unique call to action for each post or do you have a general one that's attached into the template of the blog?

    1. Post some questions that your products can help solve.
    2. Explain why they happen.
    3. Give your solutions.
    4. Tell your visitors to use some products to solve easily and quickly
These 4 options should be the principles that you can use on your blog. Do remember to make a real and honest review to your products, thus your will get "HONEST" money.

I only use text links. I want them to read my pre-sale pitch and not get distracted by banners and sidebar ads.
