I have a site for "personal injury lawyer". I want to build backlinks etc. normal seo stuff. If I just go to Google and search the term "personal injury lawyer", and i scroll through to the last result, and in the process just pick out any sites where i could get a free blog comment in there, arent the sites i pick off this specific search in google gonna be the most important for backlinking because those sites came directly off such a targeted search? PROVE ME WRONG.
An easier way would be to search using blogsearch.google.com All that comes up are blogs waiting to be commented on! Good luck Kevin
ok and how many links per day should i be doing? i was thinking anywhere between 5 to 200 backlinks per day.
Using Google's blog search is a good way to do it. An even better way is to search with the word "comments" included in your search. this will then search blogs that accepts comments. If you select advanced search option you can specify some more criteria which will save you time in sifting through 1000's of blogs. Technorati also has a great search tool and specific to blogs. You can do the same thing there and try different keywords with "comments" included with your search term.
Check those sites ranking for the keyword you want to rank for with this site http://www.backlinkwatch.com This will show you the links they are getting. Then just try and get links from the same place they are getting them. This will give you a good list of links to start with. -p0ck3ts P.S. You're crazy.
OKAY, I WILL PROVE YOU WRONG. First thing first, if you're going to target the blogs, don't comment on them. Ask them if they're looking for guest writers, and which topics about personal injury laws, litigation and protection they'd be interested in having published on their blogs. Not only will you have stronger links (since the links will be in the content, followable by the search engines, and carry a ton of weight and authority), but you will also be seen as an authority or expert on the matter. Don't ask the blogger to write the article for you - just ask them if they'd let you write one for them (all it costs them is a link to your site with the keywords you want to target). Oh, and having a captive audience always helps too - everyone will be paying attention to you rather than the commenters, and you can even score additional links from the readers when they link back to your site as well (or even link back to your guest article, which just pushes more weight, trust and authority back to your site via your targeted link). Once you have a couple of these articles under your belt, approach other bloggers and even some trade publications and ask them if they're looking for guest writers. With a portfolio under your belt, they should have no problem letting you write for them once in a while. Don't forget your local Chamber of Commerce and business directories. The Bar Association is another great source of links. Think about how many law journals have Web sites. Don't target them, but their print publications. Many of the print periodicals also publish their content online - and you can get links from them that way. If they don't link to you, or link with the wrong text, a simple email asking them to do so "for the benefit of their users" can do wonders. What about the clients? Think about contacting them and asking them to link back to you (if they can). If the firm recently won a large judgment for a client, issue a press release. Same if the firm did something noteworthy, such as donating money to purchase a new home for a family that lost theirs in a fire. Can you find any sites that have links to personal injury lawyer sites that are no longer active (they return 404 errors)? Contact the owners of those sites and ask them to replace the dead links with links to your own. After all, they'll be doing their users a service by getting rid of the dead weight, right? Want me to come up with more ideas?
I was doing 1 backlink a day, and averaged 50 guests a day for every 6-7 backlinks. Mostly on forums and games that I play though.
