Hi everyone - I was inspired by the default Word font (the one that came loaded on my new Vista-based laptop) Calibri, so I decided to try a landing page using the font. However, I'm not sure that it works. I also tried a medium-copy page for the first time, which isn't something I'm used to doing. I'd love to hear your input on it! It's at www.affiliatesmark.com. Thanks! B
The only problem with using calibri as a font is your user has to have it installed on their system. I don't know the stats but I'm guessing that there's less than 25% of people who have vista and/or office 2007 installed. So those who don't will see a generic font unless you specify another to fall back on.
Thank you for the feedback. I wanted to go with shorter copy because I think the product speaks for itself; it does have a lot of graphics and templates I've used. How much of a difference do you think the font makes when it comes to conversions? I just launched the product 2 weeks ago, and have received many hits but relatively few sales. Perhaps I'm taking the wrong approach? And, perhaps not -- it usually takes me about 5 to 8 weeks to really get something going and I'm just beginning to get the word out. However, the ecourse sign-up is doing very well -- over half of my visitors sign up for it. Any thoughts?
Personally I prefer standard arial or times new roman, but if you do use this make sure to check it with older systems/macs, etc. to make sure that it will show properly for them.
Yeah, its always tricky using fonts that some viewers may not have on their systems. I'd play it safe, personally.
Thanks for all the posts! I think I'll be switching away from calibri - just wondered how the 'new age' of microsoft's invasion was going to look! lol
I think Georgia looks pretty nice in headlines, but I can't see the Calibri font on there either. Just the "standard" font. Switch to Arial or Microsoft Sans Serif or Times New Roman or something common like that.
