Caching Shows Another website, Not my Own

A little bit of context: the brand of site X is owned by site Y. (X being the B2C business, while Y is B2B)

A couple of years ago the website Y (B2B) redirected pages to X. Now Y (B2B) is also live, but a lot of the old pages are still redirected to site X.

For a couple of months now we are seeing a strange issue: when accessing the homepage cache of site X it is shown the cache homepage of Y (B2B) :

Also, when accessing the cache of categories or products it returns a 404 error. (that message that the website is not in cache), but it was in cache for years.

Google is probably seeing the connection between both websites (the branding, all the communications in the media are with X by Y (B2B) ), but confuses the websites, which is really odd.

Until couple of months ago, everything was fine, bot sites are very old websites.

The websites are NOT similar in content.

I have looked at the all the things that theoretically could cause these kind of problems...:

    - IPs ( both sites have different Ips)
    - clean and simple robots.txt on both sites
    - clean sitemaps ( no links to each-other in neither sitemaps)
    - hreflang (it doesn t apply)
    - canonicals fine on both websites

P.S: Sorry for not giving the name of the websites, I don't have the client's permission.

    Anyone experienced something like this?
Looking forward to your answers if you have any idea what is going on..
