CableTV.com

I've owned the domain, CableTV.com since December 1993.

For many years I used it as my firm's domain, but I've moved away from the domain to free it up for other uses. Last March I started a forum which has seen traffic and users rise every month. I've been using Google Adsense on the site, and I've seen my CTR vary, as well as the income, but not the level that I think it should be for a industry-name domain.

I'm thinking about either selling the domain, or (more likely) partnering with someone who can really monetize the value.

I'd be grateful for your thoughts.

I disagree as it is a very good domain i think you should contact large tv companies about it im sure they will have great interest in it. When it comes to domains you just have to find the right person to buy them

Quality domain. I would try www.sedo.com and at least make it known that the domain is in play. They will also market the domain for you. In my opinion, its worth is greater than the big million mark.

some where around $150000 to 200000 if you approach a buyer.
You might end up getting a million $'s if you stop looking for a buyer and wait for the buyer to come looking for you.

If Iwas you I would list it on a few sites for sale for $500000 and just wait and watch.
Keep increasing the expected price by $15000 $20000 every month and MARK my words you have a sale in 4-5 months... (Only if you keep increasing the price)

Very nice domain. I agree with previous poster who said list on Sedo.com. They recently sold Tractors.com for $153,500. CableTV.com is at least as good a domain.

Sedo.com has a very nice procedure whereby you can negotiate with a buyer and once you get price negotiated to satisfactory level you put it out for auction.

WOW this is an incredible domain name to have! If marketed and sold correctly I would say this is worth near 1 Million. The problem here is you need to find the right people to help you market and sell it. Personally, I would write a letter to all the major TV companies, letting them know that you have this domain and that it is for sale, and that you are taking offers from their competitors. If the right offer doesn't come out of that, I would get the help of SEDO or a professional Domain Name speculator that you see all the time listed on DNJournal.com. To get the most value out of this, I think you will need help!

like few people have already said it, cable company is the way to go. Don't go to you local cable company, go to places like comcast, time warner, cox or even HBO.

Alright I did a little research and have found that you could be looking at about half a million US$'s but you need to go through the dirty lanes to sell it and give some one a 10% cut under th table .....

If you play the good guys role you will not get anything more then 50-60 grands and that too from someone who runs a MFA network :(

Don't sell yourself short. I can easily see a cable company being very interested in the domain name. Of course, you could always approach the satellite dish companies as the domain could be a great way for one of them to snag traffic away from cable.

I completely agree. I think you should contact time warner cable or their current competition verizon. CableTV.com is a ginormous golden goose. Nice!

I'll start you off with $10 ;) :D ONLY JOKING

It must be worth mid $xxx, xxx at least in the right hands. Good luck.

How about leasing it to a company and having it as your pension scheme? $50,000 per year for the rest of your life could be a nice little earner in the long run.

Its only like real estate, the more success the company has the more the domain is worth to them and you keep ownership of it :)

Any company that can afford to pony up the likes of mid XX,XXX a year to lease a domain name can make you an offer to purchase you cannot refuse :)

Please come back and tell us your sucess story. I love this industry!
