It's not really that hard to decipher.

The OP wanted to know the meaning of the word "Computer" or if it had any meaning behind the name, an acronym of some sort.

Or at least that's how I read it.

Although its fullform is Common Operating Machine Particulars Used For Trade Education And Research but these days many people are using it just for fun.... :)

See this: COMMON OPERATING MACHINE--- But it is not so common as many of the people are still unaware of using it.......

PARTICULARS USED FOR TRADE EDUCATION--- Ya it is extensively used in cyber crimes and weapon transferring and also in handling many arms and ammunition used to destroy humanity....

AND RESEARCH--- Well this is the part which people like most specially teenagers as they keep on researching about explicit content available on internet... :)

Here is the correct one :
commonly operated machine purposely used for training education and research

;)There are different full forms for this :
Complicated Office Mechanism Put Under Tremendous Expenditure to Reduce man-power

Complicated Office Mechanism Put Under Tremendous Expenditure to Reduce

    >>According to Oxford English Dictionary, "computer" was first used in 1897 to described a machine that "computes". Before then it was to describe a person that computes.

This is just an acronym made up, it's not actually the source of the word 'computer'.
