Get hold of visual studio express from Microsoft. While at it, get yourself the video tutorials from them. If you do this, you will be on your way to learning C plus plus.

I can offer personal guidance over remote access, one to one tutoring. PM me if you're interested!

Yes, agree. I would also recommend you "Complete Reference of C++" by Balaguru Swami from McGrew Publication.

I'm usually better with more visual guides like videos, but I'll give the book a try. Thanks for the suggestions! :D

I am also actually looking for a good guide for learning C++. I am more a book person, ironically. My problem is that I am fairly new to programming. I tried learning Visual Basic but the IDE seriously made me want to cry. I've since learned Ruby using just a text editor and I love it.

I came across a book called "Beginning C++ Through Game Programming." Game programming doesn't interest me, but I figure that this book has some great reviews and eh, what the heck, ya' know? I cracked open the book, however, and the guy suggests I get Visual Studio for it... which made me cringe. I'm going to do it though, because I'm not too familiar with compiling ANYTHING (Ruby isn't a compiled language) and Visual Studio has that nice button that you just push. :p

Let me give you a little bit of background as to why I wish to learn C++ and perhaps this next book might interest you. Like I said, I've learned some Ruby and really enjoy it. While I know some Ruby, I am just really having trouble grasping the concepts of object-oriented programming. A friend of mine (who is a super awesome programmer and has a degree in Computer Science) suggested a book that teaches the concepts of OOP with C++. Since the book he suggested, "Object-Oriented Analysis and Design with Applications" assumes some knowledge of C++, I decided I needed a book to teach me C++ in the first place!

I hope this is helpful for you!

If you want to learn C++ then 1st clear your programming concepts then go for syntax, it's easy way and you will become a good programmer and you can get many tutorials on internet.

Hi,:):) I Appreciate Your Interest. This one thought is help you to bring you as a C++ Expert level. but you can work hard for that. you start c language. CPP is advanced from C language. If you learn C before going to learn c++ it is better for understanding Get more PowerPoint presentations related to C++ in Google. you can follow Denis Riche book for C, Bjorube Strostrup book for c++. Also, You've to do work on TURBO C software.
