C class IPs ??? C class IPs and linkbuilding issue..

    Hello friends,
    Please help me,I found these in a forum

    " Don't cross-link from any domains that you own or any domains that share the same Class C Block of IPs."

    and


    " Do back links coming from the same C-Class IP lower the site's search engine ranking? "

    Is that true ???? I am new here,Please explain.

    If you have a nearly closed network of websites, this can be bad but otherwise I think it's perfectly fine to have link from same IP / same c-class IPs.

    What's a C-class IP ? Sorry but I couldn't attend in Cisco class.
