.bz & uk.com domain names - any cons Vs. .coms ?

    Hi there
I have a big kinda unique project brewing, however the domain/s im looking for have already been registered .com
i had a look at the other domain extensions and its basically either .bz or .uk.com

.bz is like .biz but shorter. Which is good because my site will be business/infomation orientated. However it is related to belize.
uk.com is the best out of .com and .co.uk. I like it because Im in the uk and it is more recognisable than .bz.. however it is longer than .bz

If i was to use a .bz domain name, would visitors think im based in belize.. like they if using .co.uk and UK? Would they even know .bz is belize.. is .bz too hard to remember for returning visitors?

The main thing im worried about though is SEO. Would .bz or .uk.com domain names be less competitive than a .com? A lot of big companies use .uk.com so that is what im looking at, although .bz could be a successfull gamble.

    Thanks for your time
    chris

in terms of SEO, all domain extensions are treated the same...think about your visitors and what is going to be easier for them to remember...

    Awesome thanks seo ranter

they could confuse .uk.com with co.uk or com
however .bz is quite hard to remember because its quite random

    what would u remember ?

I would recommend .com if you are looking at any word of mouth visitors, but if it is 90-100% from search engine, or referrer sites (clicks), then .bz will not matter.

the .com is already taken ;)
only ones left worth considering are .uk.com .bz and .in

I think I will have to go with .uk.com because Im from UK.. yet its marketed worldwide.

Thanks for your inputs really helped

Personally I would look at changing the domain name you are going to use. If you go with .uk.com I think you will end up regretting it and wishing you went with a different .com

excellent vic mackey that is what I have just concluded after it came to me.. i forgot I had a nice domain ebizhouse.com which would cover the same niche that i'm aiming at.

I don't see why big companies like avon use avon.uk.com domains if they're rubbish
