I recently got a challenge from my instructor at my college. He said that if I can get past the school's security on the wireless network, he would give me extra credit. He hinted at what the solution would be, and said it'd be easy. Here's the scenario. Our campus isn't located on the central campus. We use Telnet to get access to the main campus. We are trying out a new wireless network that enables students to get free access to internet, but for now it is password protected. We can connect to the network, but when we open up a browser, it prompts us with the campus login screen. My solution must get around this login screen and be able to access a webpage. The instructor hinted at using a packet sniffer for some reason, and said nothing else. Thoughts?
I have no idea on how to do that! I doubt it should be that complex either. If I can connect to the network, the packet sniffer will let me use the "middle man" technique to find out a password or two, right? All I really need is the login, too. How hard would it be to brute force it?
may be he wanted u to find the correct gateway or something , observe source code and see if you can find something
