The only chitika revenue that is off for me is referal revenue. I didn't have any money invested in that though, so it is not a big deal. Some people here and elsewhere ran adwords campaigns and invested a ton of money trying to get chitika referals. Wonder if they are doubting that decision. I still continue to have really good returns with chitika on my sites. No complaints from me.
Same here, my site (www.primevector.nl) was also not accepted and also the respond time was on the slow side.
I am thinking about dumping Chitika if you go to the Shitika Blog (a blog about how crappy Chitika is) you will see a link to the Google map of the business address of Chitika it is a residential cul-de-sac house!!! wtf!!? the owner of CHitika probably runs it out of his mother's basement
well i come to a point.... even if chitika is audit is not good... but still there are some good income with reffral program..... i am with chitika just for ref revenue now joine chitika frm mu reff ... lol
That's probably true, and it pisses me off. Not because I care, but because I didn't think of it myself. (uh, not that I live in my mother's basement). Just shows that any of us could one day come up with an idea and make a big pile of money. Cheers, Gary
I'm going to guess that someone who has Ph.D. in Information Science and was the Principal Technologist in the Marketing Services group at Lycos probably doesn't live in his mother's basement.
It's entirely possible to run a successful business from home these days. Look at Spam King Alan Ralsky! Every hated him, but he ran a massive spamming operation (up until he got arrested) all from the basement of one of his mansions that spam paid for.
A lot of folks are referring to "pre-audit" revenue here. Please if you manage to pull off better than $2 CPM returns for the month of December after the audit please let us know.
Pretty sure I will be many multiples higher than that. In December they took out all geo clicks before posting the numbers, and after the last audit I lost 0% of my clicks. So I suspect my adjustments for December will be close to nothing. And my CPM is much higher than $2.
All of my other CPM marks after audit have been well over $2 so I don't expect this one to be much different.
I think it must be my overseas traffic. I get a lot of it. Adsense runs $8-16 CPM, and YPN runs $12-24, Chitika has been $.10-$.20 CPM (yes, twenty cent CPM) on my site. It's nice to know other folks have made it work.
Just make sure (maybe you are) that you are comparing the same thing between them. If you have one Chitika ad unit per page and have a CPM of $1.00 that is a lot different than having ten Chitika ad units per page and a CPM of $1.00.
Their stats page actually says $.08 for the 30,000 impression day with only CHITIKA on the page above and below the fold. I used to get $2+ from one mall at the bottom below the scroll line. Strangely enough the next day before I turned them off I hit 23,000 and was nearly triple that CPM. That's pretty sporadic for having impressions in the 5 digits. Looks like the kind of jump you'd see with just a few hundred hits a day. So my bet is the U.S. traffic actually equates to a few hundred people which is why CPM was so "bouncy". I'm going to bring them back up again with the Alternate URL set and see if that changes anything. Maybe I need to look a little closer. Thanks.
