I have been reading all about how buying traffic is great if you own a website that sells products, however my sites only source of income is adsense.

Would it be worth buying traffic or are there better ways to invest my money?

No, its not good to buy traffic like that ! Its not gonna help in anyway. :p

Better use Adwords if you want to spend money. :)

I don't know what you're reading, but buying traffic is great only if you want to throw away some money

If you're going to buy traffic, I would highly recommend targeted traffic via adwords or pay per view media ads.

Other than that, most "paid traffic" that cost around $5 bucks for 10,000 are just either fake, or autosurf.

Well, you can have a try to buy more links. For me,I think google adwords is good,if you can make full use of it,
you will benefit much from it.Also pay more attention to the quality of your product or service.

I've read that buying traffic as well as buying links is not an ethical method of e-Marketing. What do you think of it?

Buying traffic is good if you know where the traffic comes from. Like for example paying a marketer to post your website in the email list. This will assure you that you will get quality traffic.. But buying traffic where you are not really sure where it comes is a bit useless.

Always remember that you don't simply need traffic for "one time visit". Long for getting repeat visits from them :)

Do not buy traffic unless you are earning via CPA

Well all of my income (not much) comes from adsense, and I am thinking if I x% goes to the network I advertise with and x% is taken from the network that advertises with me, that buying traffic is not good.

Adwords is the last straw to get hold of if you are in a mood to throw some money to get traffic.

For the ones who know how to advertise, it can be great.

For the ones who don't know how to advertise, knock it, which is one of the reasons why they have dead sites.

Most people seem to be heading in the same direction, either backlinks or just no.
A surprisingly good amount of information.
    Thanks.

The only rationale for buying traffic is when you want to show for the record that your blog is getting traffic (so you can sell the blog for example). Other than that there is no use. Only a small percentage of such PTC traffic actually clicks on your ads and the returns are less than what you spend for buying traffic.

Remember, traffic doesn't mean you'll get any adsense clicks. Think about where your current traffic is coming from, and devise a strategy to get more of the same type of traffic. There are tons of free ways to bring in traffic, and if you do it right, the traffic will be more qualified, which means it will be traffic that converts into adsense clicks.

As some guys already said, you'd better use PPC than buying bulk traffic.
