Buying traffic... just a con?

are websites offering traffic like the ones below just a con or is the traffic really targeted and unique? Seems too good to be true. Has anyone tried or can anyone recommend any companies to provide cheap targeted traffic? It has to be real traffic, i am not just looking for fake hits.

Well, I mean, it's traffic that you're buying. It's definitely not natural and most likely is just from PTC websites where the members don't care about the content. You do the math.

Pay to click, there not going to buy something it's purpose it more to give you a quick boost in traffic which looks weird because it will be like 100 visitors on monday, 100000 visitors on tuesday, 90 visitors on wednesday and this could even slow down your site for the real customers, I personally wouldn't a service like this, try something like adwords or advertising on another site or buying signature links, etc.

Be careful with buying paid traffic - the saying if it's too good to be true then it's probably not goes twofold for traffic brokers/sites. Majority of the time if it's not coming from proxies, it's coming from pop unders or frames - which translates into irritated customers who will just close the pop unders as quickly as they come up and it also puts your adsense account at risk if you have one as it violates adsense TOS.

You get what you pay for. Sure, you have traffic going to your site, but that doesn't necessarily mean anything - they aren't going to be effective leads, will rarely if ever convert to sales, and really in the end it doesn't do much for SEO because algorithms on sites like google and alexa are getting smarter about traffic versus visitors.

That said, if you want your page view numbers to go up, they can manage that.

These sites mostly sell traffic coming from autosurfs and PTC so it's not really quality traffic.

I would say buy traffic only in the hopes of some of them will become normal visitors. If your content is what they are looking for than you are lucky. lol.

That's kind of throwing darts blindfolded at a dartboard 5 miles away while hopping on one foot.

Useless, if you don't get my simile.

Totally bunk. You need to generate your own traffic.

Don't spend any money on that traffic. You would be better off giving that money to a charity. At least its tax deductible. :)

I would go for sites that offer targeted traffic and offer some types of solid guarantees.

I.E. if it doesn't do anything for your site, services, or whatever get your dang money back.

It could be worth a try, but real internet marketing is always better.

With the exception of revisitors, crb187, they all have less than 1,000 daily hits.

Revisitors has, roughly, less than 5,000.

Why use a service, when they can't even bring themselves good hits?

Buying traffic is not a "con." How do you think the big sites got to be so big? Hello???

The trick is to find a reputable advertising service.
