I'v searched all over Clickbank ... well I tried too make sure I searched all over, probably under my nose.....

Does Clickbank have a rule to prevent buying through one's on link?

    I didn't see anything.

    No,

You can do this fine, it is very regularly done to get a saving on things you either want to use / read for your business, or personal interests... for anything really, there are no restrictions.

Thanks, since I had looked so hard and didn't find anything against it, even in the prohibited actions that I did find, I had decided they must be okay with it.

I haven't been promoting clickbank stuff and I think I've been missing some great products.

you can do this, this happens all of the time on clickbank. The vendor wont care either because they are still making money on the purchase.

I think that has been answered elsewhere in the forum before.

As long as the seller gets his money and the commission is paid there is no issue at all.

I do it all the time. Everyone still wins. Vendor gets money, you get the discount. You'll get it back when you get your first check.

There are no restrictions for buying from you own link (I even recommend on it). Just make sure that you do so for products you are interested on promoting …:D:mad:

Although there is no restriction in buying through your own link, but do so only if you are an affiliate and are confident of making more sales soon. After all, what is the point in buying through your own link if you are not an affiliate, and only a customer?

Remember Clickbank has a "dormant account" policy, and also it does not issue a check to new affiliates unless 5 sales are made from 5 different credit cards.

That is a great way to get the product so you know what you are selling, you get it for a discount, you get a commission to make your stats look better - and maybe to make you feel good, and the owner of the product gets his money. Every one is good - and Clickbank gets money for it too, so go for it.

This is new information for me regarding Clickbank! I always thought it was against the rules to purchase items using your own affiliate link. Amazon is strict about things like that, right? Well, I know where I will be purchasing my next useful but pricey e-marketing eBook from ;)

Most vendors encourage this at Clickbank anyway. In hopes you will like there product enough to promote it. I just hate affiliate programs that expect you to buy the product full price, to find out it sucks and you would not give it away for free. Don't you?

You can't. I guess you could tell them they can't but that might violate ClickBank ToS. I'm not sure.

Clickbank does have a post on their blog about that. The recommend you bury the link to your affiliate program as if it is too prominent, it might drive away some potential affiliates.

What difference does it make if you get half and they buy through their own links or through an affiliate. You're getting the same.

A confident vendor would provide affiliates with a review copy, but you usually would have to ask

And whatever you do... Don't ignore it! I've been promoting someone that I asked. I didn't get a response. I kept on promoting, I get lots of clicks on it but no sales.

I would have reviewed the product with a featured post on my site. I'm going to ask again, if still no sales, then I'll pull the ads.

You can buy from your own link but like smonline said you have to make 5 sales from 5 different credit cards before they issue your first check. So, if you haven't hit that marker yet you may end up waiting a long time before you get the money back.

If that's true, I'll know soon but I can't believe Clickbank could possibly be that stupid.

They might as well slap a sticker on their head that says "Sue Me, I'm Rich and Sneaky"

No there are none i'm aware of either. A lot of merchants buy from themselves initially just to get there product listed in the CB Marketplace.
