Buying text link ads on sites for a reasonable price?

I'd like to try to get some hits by displaying text links on sites. Has anyone had positive experience with this?

What I'm *not* looking for is:

    * Google AdWords (might be fine for some, didn't work well for us (we're not a niche market, so we're competing for popular keywords for which we need to pay a lot).

    * Buying "guaranteed" hits (10,000 hits for $19.95 - not interested in some automated system that simply delivers 0 second hits to our site to increase our hit count).

Maybe there's some "broker" out there that puts your link on related topic sites for a small fee. I'm a reasonable person. I don't expect to pay a modest amount and get massive hits. I'm hoping to pay a modest amount and get a modest amount of legitimate hits in return.

    Thanks,

    Dan

Best way is to buy direct from a related niche website or blog. Most traffic selling is crap and only improves your stats, I can tell you how to get that kind of traffic for free it is called Stumble Upon. Set up several accounts and thumb up your site and you will have lost if traffic. It has no conversion and is just click through but offers the same thing you paid for.

You are better off placing your links in places where people interested in your topic will see it and visit your site.

Best thing you can do is just search for website's in your certain keyword range and just approach those website owners for ad space. I know a lot of people hate this process but it works quite well.

Price is always dependent on the volume of traffic the site you are trying to buy an ad link from. So request to see some traffic results. It's leg work and most people won't do it and that's the reason they fail. The most boring work is usually the most productive.

Never buy those worthless proxy 10k visits for 4.95 offers they are 100% junk, they have have been for the last 10 years and yet people still buy them.........

You can always hire someone to do the leg work and then you get the information and start the contact phase.

    Good luck......

I'd try to advertise in places that you think people would be interested in your site. Unfortunately the third person you might be using probably doesn't care as much about the quality you would receive if they are getting a piece of the pie regardless.

Most traffics that will be coming from those test link ads aren't going to convert well. It is just a waste of money. I used to advertised my site on those but it doesn't convert so I stop advertising it.
