It seems that a regular newsletter is one of the popular ways of making money online. However given that only 20% of businesses succeed I would expect most people with a newsletter to fail (and thus be for sale partially developed). I'm therefore curious if there is a market of (mainly failed) newsletters that can be purchased with existing readers on specific topics that wouldn't need to be started from scratch. I don't see any listed here or at sitepoint marketplace. Is there really a market of people buying & selling these?
I never thought of that before - good point. I would have to say that I don't know if this would exist because think about why the businesses may have failed. Many of them may have failed because the owners lacked time to do what was needed or didn't have the money to put into growing the businesses. If these scenarios were true, then they probably did not have an established newsletter or e-zine; if the owner didn't have time to work on the business, then s/he probably did not have time to get a newsletter up and running. I would be interested in hearing what others think, as this is a point I have never considered before.
The ezine needs to be reputable, highly targeted, and you need to signup with it to see the quality of their messages. Message me and I will help you out.
That's exactly my point. Depending on the topic of the eZine and why they failed it could be far easier to start where they left off with an existing user base rather than nobody. It's far more complex than buying a website, but.... Also an e-zine with 500 members would have to be worth money, even if the owner is declaring it a failed. Being we don't see these around, where do you find this?
