I'm Brazilian lawyer, and also webmarketing investor as explained in: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=1904395#post14764528

I can provide Legal buying and transfering .com.br, even when you are buying a new domain or jut worry about transfering from someone else to you, vice-versa.

Foreing people call me to buy good page rank domains forgotten in Brazilian marketing, because US developers know how to find them, etc.

For other brazilian webservices, please feel free to make contact.

If only brazil allow foreign individuals to register .BR (second level) instead of a sub-domain .COM.BR (third level) i would buy them.

    This isn't the case unfortunately.

    Yeah,
Registrar in Brazil requires person must have a brazilian address, and nacional document to register a .com and .com.br
My legal opinion it's that it's right!
Many brazilian users use internet to Fraud goals, by restricting a domain to an adress and documents make easier to find Who and Where are those people, and prevent Huges damages!
Once I register a .com.br for someone from Non-Br I would ask passport documents, US address proofs and so on, because if something happens, will be me in court trying to answers things I do not know and havent's done.
This is a legal and professional attitude which new users may seek and appreciate.
Feel free to contact for any doubts.

    There is no .br domain - just - .com.br / org.br / net.br and so on...
Address is not a problem... legally you cant fake an address, but technically you can!
Issue for noun brazilian investor are:
To buy them you need to inform CPF (Cadastro de Pessoa Física) or CNPJ (Cadastro Nacional de Pessoa Juridica) means - Document Authentification as a citzen or company, only brazilian companies or you've born in Brazil you can have it.
You can also LEGALLY create a CPF for you even if you are from US, UK so on, no need to be brazilian or affiliate as one, AND that's the service I provide.
If is there anything else I can help you let me know!
