how do u go about buying multiple domain names if u want to make alot of sites? for example, if you wanted to make 20 sites, would you register the domain names through your host, or do you go to another site and register the domain names, then transfer them over to host when its time to make a site? and WHERE?

As long as your host is proving Domain Registration, i suggest to use them. Why bother for transfer and waste time :)

Unless your host is offering names for $7 for .com and $1 for info I would go with the host otherwise I would register them at Godaddy.com. At the top left corner choose domainnames->register in bulk. You can try and see if the couponcode AMAZON3 is working for you for 10% of the price

There are some hosting companies which provide domain registration services as well. If you are hosting with such company then its better to go with them only as the transfer of domains will be done by them.

I would register the domain names one by one and then make site one by one so that I can have time to give it proper attention for marketing and even get some time between renewal dates the next year.

i would suggest you to register domains through Godaddy,
as it can easy to manage whatever someday you change web hosting.
    at the same time,
you might easy to transfer the domains to others when you sell your domains or websites as 90% of webmaster would have a Godaddy account.

It is advisable to keep hosting and domain registration separate
