Buying Money Making Products? | Is it ever Worth it?

Discussion in 'General Marketing' started by IMNEWB, Feb 19, 2013.

I have spent my fair share on money making products and usually look them over and return them for refund. Are there any unbiased recommendations as to a great money making product? Or can a person find pretty much anything through Forums, discussions, free research, etc. I feel I'm doing alright with some things I have started, but think I'm missing some inside tips. Any tips or advice, through here or one on one would be helpful. I'm plugging away and definitely want to make Internet Marketing and other Internet ventures as my full-time business. Any useful information about making a living online would great. Thanks!

What's your opinion for best forums? DP, Warrior and BHW seem to be the main forums related to Internet Business World. Any other Forums, thought, advice, etc...?

A lot of the 'money making' products out there are just a collection of free information that can be found on various forums, websites, blogs etc... anyway. The difference is that it will be compacted into one e-book so you don't need to go in search for it yourself. Either spend hours researching or buy a product that puts it all in front of you.

That being said, some of the products do have some decent information in them or, at least, provide a new twist to a certain method. If you want to go down the purchasing route then research the WSO or e-book; it is fairly easy to spot the reviews etc... that have been planted or written to get a free copy.

I never buy ebooks or guides anymore.
I do purchase some software now and then, but to be honest a lot products out there are just rehashed rubbish.
Then of course there is the problem of information overload, where people buy every new product and never try to implement one idea.
It is better to decide on what you want to do, adsense, amazon, affiliate or build a website. Choose a niche and stick with it or add to it.

Most of the products on the websites that are free are just rubbish. These are only things that are free and easily available and thus have no value. These things does not attract visitors on the website.

It would be easier to buy such products instead focus on investing in something real and sell it with a higher profit. This is one of the oldest principles of trade, which still works. Find a warehouse or something imported from China and sell it in your area or online.

The only Internet Marketing "stuff" I buy is software.

The only time I would ever buy an eBook or course or anything is if it's from someone who is established and has the same style of marketing I do.

As for bouncing from one "super awesome get rich" eBook to another. Never. 99-100% of that information can be found via the almighty Google and forums.

I think it depends on your intent.

You can find just about all of the information sold in those products on forums and by doing Google searches, but....

Is it better to spend $7 to $37 to get the information already researched, tested, and bundled rather than digging for it yourself? It all depends on your needs.

I have bought some great products for $7 to $10 that saved me tons of time researching and testing ideas. (Sure, I still needed to test their ideas, but it reduces the testing phase dramatically.)

The best investment for me has been to partner with a mentor on a membership site. I have someone who is in the trenches doing the same types of things as me who I can bounce ideas off of, discuss points, and get a "kick in the pants" when I need it.

I have never returned a product. I always manage to find at least a little something in there I can use, even if it is just to remind me how you can make money selling the darnedest things...

Seems you don't have a plan - there are many ways to make money online, which one will you choose? That's the biggest question.

Then buy material to help you become an expert in that area. Randomly buying products about making money will lead you nowhere but info overload, confusion, chasing your own tail.

Say you want to become a full time blogger, then that's your area you want to specialize in and by products to help you become an expert blogger.

If you want to be an affiliate marketer then specialize in that area.

I like having my own info-business so I don't buy any stuff unrelated to that. I don't go spending money on latest youtube make money secrets or stuff like that.

I have to say that after years of trial and error in the internet marketing industry I have come across some poor schemes as well as useful information that actually capitalized on my investment. My advice to you is figure out a niche that you feel passionate enough about and do your research.

My advice to you is to join a local IM group near where you live and ask around. The people you meet there are no wiser than you'll meet online but you should be able to assess far more readily what's going to work and what isn't. You'll know who's worth listening to from having met them. That's one fast(ish) way I can think of. The other's hit or miss and involves kissing a lot of frogs 'before you meet your prince(s)'. But I pass on a couple of names: Eric'stips; andrechaperon. I'm not a friend or associate or affiliate of either person. Good luck.

No there are no products out there that can instantly make you money. There are products out there that will give you information but you have to take action and implement what they are telling you to do.
Are you a serial refunder? Don't buy a product if you don't want it.

If you want to outlay money - don't buy product but get yourself a mentor and follow their advice.

Yea its worth it if you actually do the work, and master it.

Don't get caught up in "Shiny Toy Syndrome", and be a constant buyer. Stick with a few great programs, and make it work out for you until you make decent income. Then you can move on to the next lol.

But, because of simple money making programs, I was able to make $3000/mo from only a $10 product at times. It just depends on the quality you find out there.

From my experience, I got better value from the software I bought. The eBooks are usually just bait to get you to give your details to the Marketer so he can build his list. I mean, why would anyone offer you the secret to becoming rich for just a few bucks? If it's so damn good they wouldn't need your $7

Do money making programs work? Some do certainly. Which ones? No idea. There is so much rubbish/out of date info out there that you could spend a fortune before you found what works for you

Like many others have said, I too prefer to use software in order to increase my productivity.

However, most of the time you could find most of the information in make money online books free on the internet if you searched around, but to me time is much more valuable than money.

I've found that most people think just having the information in their head is enough. you have to actually follow through and complete the tasks laid out for you. only then will you be able to decide if the method works or not. It would be like having a recipe on how to bake cake: read it, know it by heart, but do nothing it says, and afterwards complaining that the recipe didn't teach you how to make a cake.

and like jacksarlo said one of the most important things is to be focused on one thing, there are way too many ways to make money online, and it gets tempting to try other things before you finish one method of making money.

My advice would be to focus on learning the principles of making money, you can learn methods but methods can go out of date, principles never do

and like coloma said, it's possible to make $3000/mo from a $10 product. I made $497 in week using a method from a $9 product

Even if you give the people the secrets to becoming rich for $7 it takes a rare kind of person to actually have the focus to apply everything taught to them, and preserve until money is made.

Well, I hope you bookmarked all the sales pages for the material you returned ;)
That's where you will find the key to making money - online or off.
The number one skill - and one I gladly pay for - is to craft a compelling offer
and get it in front of enough people already looking for it.

Everything else is just the machinery to get it going and keep it running.
I've been successful with a simple formula ever since making money online meant
email group lists and chat rooms.

A good self-test after buying a product is to answer the questions, What made me buy this,
what did I learn, Can I see myself doing this, Why am I not implementing this, How can I do this better?

People spend money to solve problems and improve their lives.
Answer those needs in the market of your choice and you will make money :)

Of course there's value and some "golden nuggets" in ebooks, but No one will EVER share ALL their secrets on how they became successful. That would be plain stupid and well known internet marketers is far from stupid. Just look at WF, I recently saw that one guy was still selling his ebook, for $37.. That book has been for sale for more than one year and he started out selling that ebook for $17. I know, because I'm a buyer of it. The information in that ebook is true in every way, but it's old news. I would never buy anything like that nowadays. People who's new to internet marketing and certain niches will gladly pay for an ebook which looks promising and they will learn tons of new things, but for someone who's been in the game for more than 6 months it would be rubbish. With that said, it also depends on what you are doing with your time. Time is money.

I just noticed that we've been avoiding the OP's original question, "Are there any unbiased recommendations as to a great money making product? "
OK, the 'great' is going to be a stretch - several specific and expensive, membership sites come to mind...but I recently took a chance on 'A 10 Minute Affiliate'. This was an inexpensive WSO (I know, I know...also available from JVZoo) - great sales page (hint) for a 5 page pdf and some videos.

I learned two, valuable new things that I was able to leverage right away. It's fine for newbies and easy to implement with zero cost.

I don't know the authors or have any financial stake in the product.
Maybe some of you already know all there is to know...frankly, most of the time I don't know what I don't know ;)

But I think the investment in knowledge is worth the small price - if it is acted upon.
It makes sense that if someone else is getting the results you want, then the thing to do is to do what they do. That's a lot of 'do'!
