"Buying Links for traffic"

"Buying Links for traffic" Hi everyone I have a question is their atleast a few of you out their that by links? if so could you share some of the benefits or is this worth lookin in to?
Im lookin in to this as a option if you buy the link per say is that link yours permanently or is it like buying a domain?

I buy links at text-link-ads for one of my sites. You pay by month so you have to keeping paying monthly to keep your link active. My link is on sites that are related to my site. I don't get much traffic from them but I do it in the hopes of building my page rank on google. I have been doing it for about two months and my page rank has not gone up yet. So not sure yet if its worth doing

 

text link ads is good. the point of links is the more links pointing to your site (from higher ranking sites), the more value Google and Yahoo think your site has, so you'll rank higher for searches relating to your content. Of course, some people buy links to get traffic from the site they're linking from, but usually it's strictly for SEO purposes.

thats useful info im geussing that you need to get better at seo? but the theroy of buying links seems like a pay per click thing", poor your profits before you make them" I think thats a black hat from a sellers point of view why do these huge firms use these tricks and everyone else gets black listed" im no idiot" im just a overly concerned guy about how and where I spend my dough online" heres the way I see this link thing" three of my web sites whent from pr 0 to pr 3 right out of the hat" tell me if thats good seomenship or plain luck" linking is a general description that determines your pr Eblaze and MRX" now thats the first step" but when you try to command traffic using links then your confusing the entire concept between seo and traffic. okay I whent on a domain buying frenzy but the domains I bought 5 months ago have a minimum of pr 4 so my money was spent well" do you guyz check the pr for your domains"? if so thats good I know pr if 50% of the web sites success online" says the Google swami " alrigthy then any comments are fine"
