Good luck to google to try and find the right ones, and with marking them down. It will be really hard to hunt down the sellers, if not the buyers of these ads.

Please don't be an alarmist :)

And if it is then flip-flop-and Googles no longer the widest used search engine, MSN and others would soon take its place.

Google is power and money hungry.

Just don't want any one to sell links. (Use AdSense)

They don't want any one to buy links (They want them to use Adwords)

    As simple as that.

They can just discount PR transfer from links (it is just one calculation change) if they really feel that.

They just don't want completion - BIG BROTHER - - Theory

This barely makes sense, how else are we supposed to build links and solid links at that, when you purchase ad's from (comercial) providers they are usually re-directed through their tracking and for tracking purposes and rarely are they a true link to your site (if you know what I mean).

I personally believe this is bollocks, but really does it matter ? about 5 % of my traffic is from Google and other SEs combined, I buy the links, plugs, banner spots on peoples sites for the direct hits - not to strengthen my position in Google.

Its been against Google rules from the start. You just use common sense when buying links. How do paid links usually look?

    ----------
    Paid links:
    ----------
    link
    link
    link
    yourlink
    link
    link
    ----------
    Buy a link...

Don't buy them... Buy natural looking links and Google will never know if you paid for them or not.

I don't see how Google making changes their system could result in a lawsuit. Google makes no promises that doing this or that will result in better Google generated traffic.

Yeah that doesn't make much sense, I mean it is just basically advertising right?

Lucky for me that I haven't bought any links. Not that I haven't been thinking about it. What about paid reviews?

My traffic numbers are horrible, but what I do is try to create quality content. I comment on niche related bloggers articles. When I have what I consider to be a hot article, I email other bloggers in my niche and ask for their comments; if I'm lucky, something they write about the article on their own blog. Behind the scenes of my blog I use the All-In-One SEO plugin to help with better page titles and better insertion of keywords.

We're only 2.5 months old, but so far our numbers look better than some older blogs. Again, our traffic numbers aren't the best though :p

As revenues increase, some paid reviews will be in our future.

    Some facts:

If I hadn't bought links, I would have been out of this business long back.

Buying links (for manipulating SERPs) has been and will be (in foreseeable future) - the best marketing stratergy for me.

To hell with what Matt Cutts thinks.

You don't get it bro, they're targetting paid links that are designed to improve the buyer's PageRank. Adwords doesn't increase your PageRank.
