Buying High Traffic Links... Best Marketing?

    Hi all,

I got a free link on a fantastic site, and its got me loads of hits (most of my visitors are from it)

So, after seeing how great 1 link on 1 site can be, i thought about buying links on other sites.

I dont mean links at the bottom of pages, i mean sitewide links, on popular sites -- links for visitors not for PR.

These links usally cost money (i've just got one off Morgan on games2web.com for $20 a month)

So after doing all the SEO (directories, link exchanges, etc), is the next best thing to buy links like these?

Trying one for a month, seeing how many visitors it brings, then trying differnt ones, keeping the best?

Any advice on paied links would be great. How to track the good ones, how to pick which ones to buy, anything would be great.

    Cheers.

    I like this approach.

All my link purchases prior to this post were focused on high PR and old websites with relevant topics to my site.

I will test with the link from high traffic website (I guess I have to use Alexa ranking as an indicator as there are no more ways to get an idea of the website traffic).

    Cheers guys :)

Let me just show you this (i've posted this before, but incase you didnt see it:)

I was getting a very low amount of visitors before, usally under 100 uniques a day, i got 1 link on thefreesite.com and my visitors went upto about 1000 a day.

It has now slowly come down to about 400-600 a day, as my site has slipped off the first page in the "newest" section.

If you could buy links like these, on other great sites, that are permanently on display, on every page. They'd be well worth the money. I spent days subbmitting to directories, and i know that they take along time before you get any results (my backlinks have gone up), these links seem a great way to get instant real visitors.

itsall, that's nice experiment you have done and thanks for sharing.

I got to agree with that. I have a wallpapercrazy site and bought a link from a site that has 1500 unique daily and my site instantly has more than 300 visitors a day where in usual day I would get only 50 visitors.

Would highly recommend such a link.

How did you get listed on "Thefreesite.com"

I tried them before, I exchanged links with them by putting their link on the homepage of every site of mine. I had sites that are PR5 and waited for about 4 months and they didn't even bother adding me.

After that I just took their ugly link of my sites homepage and have never returned to try it again.

If they started adding sites again that put their links on their homepage I still wouldn't bother as I am getting alot more traffic now and putting another sites link on my homepage is something that I no longer wish to do.

But if there is another way of getting listed within their directory, paid or free, I would like to know.

    Thanks!

I also think that links from good websites are best way of makeing traffic. If it's hard to compete in Google, for the first position, then ofcourse paying for such links is worth it!
