You might want to be real careful. I believe if you search DP, you will not see much good about link buying on Ebay.

You've got my vote :) I completely agree.

Why would someone sell a pr5 text link for $7 on Ebay when they can post it here on DP and get more for it? It's better to buy from people you know. Buy from webmasters that post here often.

The black hatters commonly spoof the PR through a 302 redirect making it seem as if the page you're looking at has PR when it does not.

There is a way to verify PR on a page. I will seek it and post it here.

it will probably make a positive turnback to you but you will need much more link-backs like this, and 10 links would cost you 70$ for a month, and thers no guarantee that your links will not going to be removed. so i think trying to exchange links with webmasters reciprocal and crosswise here will be better.

I never knew someone could "hijack" PR until I started reading this forum.

Oh yes... very popular with black hatters and they use this strategy to sell links to unsuspecting victims... Stay away from Ebay... one of their favorite selling spots.

    :)
high PR links can help you increase PR very well

Once they remove the link to your site, the pr can decrease

I personally wouldn't do it. I bought a link once for someone else through eBay. It was a PR8 link. Payment was made via Paypal etc. and the link was put up. But, after a bit more investigation we found the following:

    1. The site had not been cached for around 18 months
    2. The home page's cache in Google was blank

(I got a refund for the listing but that's beside the point)

So, I would recommend going through these forums and trading with members here. This does not guarantee that you will not be cheated, of course but I think the chances are very low.

When buying a link, do the following:
    1. Check BLs in the major SEs. This should make sense. Ex: a PR8 site with 10 BLs doesn't quite seem right.
    2. Do a "site:" check and see if the site is being cached properly and regularly.
    3. Do a "site:" check on the particular page where your link will be placed and check the last cache date.
    4. Check the PR, of course. Only use the Google toolbar, don't rely on any other tools.
    5. Do a few Google searches as a quick test. A PR8 site should do really well in Google for most search phrases it targets. Phrases like the site's name should probably rank #1.
    6. You can also use Webarchive.com to see the website's previous few months archive to ensure that the site's content didn't have any "disturbing" elements in the past that might have got the site blacklisted.

Don't buy links or any type of advertising on ebay.
