Buying Google advertising for your site.

Does anyone have any experience with paying for Google advertisement? Either pay per click or pay per sign up campaigns? I'm trying to find out if it's worth the money. I want/need more traffic to my site which will hopefully generate more revenue for me. However, I don't want to spend the money and then have nothing really happen. Any input you can share will be helpful. Thanks. Scott

It depends on your niche. If that niche is REALLY popular, you might get a lot of clicks but you have to remember that A LOT more other people are advertising their links with that niche as well. You could always get free Adwords credits from certain hosts and test it out like that. Or, just take the risk and live your life :)

I am a musician with a pretty cool website with lots of free stuff, but also links to sites that sell my CD/MP3's. So I guess that is my niche. I will investigate it a little more but may just go for it and see what happens. Thanks for the input.

Test the traffic generated with a small amount initially and scale it up later on... if the results are indeed good! Do not get over enthusiastic and jump in... investing lot of money in adwords, at the first try itself!

Thanks for the advice RightMan. I was thinking at starting a campaign with a set "lower" limit per month and see what happens. Then take it from there.

You need a pretty big budget in order to advertise your site using Google Adwords. Adwords is not really meant for low budget marketing, but more for affiliate marketing.

If you try Adwords, consider using image ads. The cost is a lot cheaper than text ads because less people use image ads

Are you all talking about adsense? I have never seen anybody drawing handsome money through it.

Google AdWords could be great to use for building traffic for the sites newly launched. Even some top ranking portals are found to spend a lot of cash monthly over their Google advertising projects. Management of the clicks expenses is very important in this respect.

Google Adwords work fine, however you should spend a lot of time in monitoring the campaigns. Otherwise you would receive a lot of traffic from irrelevant websites.

here is the best advice , try it for free and decide!Almost Free yes! there are all kinds of Google coupons for between 75-125.00 being sold either here on DP or ebay. All it will cost you is the cost of coupon. I have 3 worth 75.00. you can use one till its hit 75.00 the evaluate whether it was worth it.Make sure and have analytics installed on your site to track ROI

If you want only traffic, then Adwords isn't the best option. SEO provides lots of free and organic traffic.
If you sell something, then Adwords can help promoting it.

    Just my thoughts
