So I have had a few pages that have went "viral" before on facebook, but I looked on freelancer.com and there are people selling facebook fans, is there people that do that here too? regards
If you do a quick search you'll find some people offering this on here...you'll also find it on virtually every freelancer type site. Some will guarantee you fans, others will sell a number of invites (ie not guaranteed fans)
I wonder what purpose does buying of fans serve? Aren't people supposed to be following you for your interests... and on their own? I guess it is just another number game... there as well! Regards, RightMan
so much of it is numbers. people always want more. In some ways though "buying fans" or invites to become fans is just another form of "tell a friend" except people out there are doing it purely for profit. If you're "buying" invites or fans who are targeted & interested then it's prob gonna be useful for you but if you're just buiilding numbers it's worthless. Many companies who offer this have thousands of accounts so many of the "fans" tey gain you wont do much more than increase your facebook ego - they wont be interested or have a great impact on viral spread
Buying fans can help you get a page started. For example, if you invite people to a page with no Fans, they might think it is dumb and not join. However, if 500 people already are fans they might think it is a good idea to join. Now for me, I already have 1600 friends on my account so I don't need to buy fans. I just invite them myself LOL.
Is better to "bribe" them with a unique gift or promotion. That way you that they at least have some degree of interest in whatever your page is about. People love free stuff.
If you buy your fans then they are not real traffic and not loyal to your business, this will only result in high bounce rate for your website. But if you try to do it the normal way, such as creating a catchy fan page and getting friends with your audience. this will enable you to gain real responses and not frauds ones.
I kinda agree with ProCASHtinator to start a fan page you really want to get as many fans as possible otherwise it is difficult to get "genuine" fans. For some people who do not have large personal networks of their own then "buying" invites might be an option - or bribe the small network of friends you have to invite their friends! If people do not want to be a fan of the page they will dismiss the invite. If they are getting too many invites they will delete the friend. I don't think its too unethical to pay people to help you promote stuff, however its a bit like purchasing a poor quality mailing list...building a natural one is much better! Once you have a good wee number (depends on your pages purpose what this number would be) then really focus on building it organically & getting genuine fans.
Yes you can now buy it and it's one of the best strategy to increase your online visibility... not really buy it to turn them into potential customers but for boosting your credibility online. you have a point there...
