A push (=change domain owner between the same registrar) is actually done in 3 easy steps:

    1. In order for the seller to be able to push the domain to your account you will need to first have an account at the same registrar of this domain that you're buying.
    2. Then the seller should send you an email asking for specific information to be able to push the domain to your account (for example your userID and emailaddress you used to sign up at the registrar).
    3. Then the seller pushes the domain to your account and that's it basically.

Alternatively if you're on another registrar you can also opt for the domain to be transferred to you. (transfer = move domain from one registrar to another registrar)
    In that case:

    1. The seller should first unlock the domain at his current registrar and send you the authorization code.
    2. You should then initiate the transfer on your registrar and when asked give the authorization code that the seller supplied to you.
    3. Then it will take up to 5 business days for the domain to be transferred to you.

Small note: The seller won't be able to transfer the domain if the domain is still in a transfer lock. Normally when you buy a new domain it has a 2 month transfer lock which means the domain owner cannot transfer it until this period of time has passed. You can however always push a domain.

    Hope that helped.
