Buying domains with reversed keyword phrases

    One of the oldest and simplest seo strategies is to buy a domain name with the main keyword or phrase you want to rank for. In most cases the premium .com domain is already taken which forces you to settle for alternatives including the .net and .org extensions. Another alternative I'm looking at are domains with the keyword phrase reversed around. For example, if I wanted to start an affiliate blog where I review gaming monitors the best domain would be gamingmonitors.com which is already taken. But the domain monitorsgaming.com is available. Is the second option just as good as the first?
