Back order, it... Godaddy will probably be your best place... If it is expired, I am sure you can just purchase it.
There's a waiting period of sometimes more than a month before it becomes available to the public. It gives the owner a chance to re-buy it. Crappy deal too. I know of a pr 8 one that I wouldn't mind having but I gotta wait.
snapnames.com pool.com but if the domain name is very good, you probably have no chance to outbid big-pocket "crazy" guys ! sorry !
There isnt any element of out bidding as it is simply sold at the standard price. It is simply a case of who is the quickest off the mark when it is released to the general public - we have secured many domains this route and other than an admin fee to our domain provider never paid more than the standard rate for the domain itself.
GoDaddy is far from the best place to secure a dropped domain. Use snapnames or pool. They will also only charge you if you win, whereas GoDaddy charges 19 bucks regardless. Anyways, there's a 70-day waiting period as well for dropped domains, so you've got a long wait.
My personal experience says that if you think other's haven't notice the domain then don't backorder, because anyway you do it, they will put it up at auction and you would never be able to outbid big pocket guys. So better wait until it's release to general public and then buy it.
im thinking I might wait until its released to the General public....the site hasnt been updated in 2 years so it looks like the present owner isnt interested. Does the $19 fee at godaddy include the registering of the domain or do you have to pay extra if they secure it for you?
I used tdnam.com some time ago and fees do not included registration for next year so i think you will have to add another 8$ to it. But if i am not mistaken this 19$ with godaddy is refundable if owner decides to keep this domain so it is a safe bet, unless i am wrong.
If the PR is good, prefer an expired domain name. But it is very difficult to get a good expired domain name.. Someone will register before you do... It happened to me... Just before I pay the price, the message appeared, this domain is not available... What a difficult situation.... Huh!
