I spend quite a bit of time browsing the buy/sell forum looking for advertising opportunities. It seems like almost every site that's selling ad space is also running coop ads. Do you see any value in buying ad space on a site that's running coop ads if you're already in the coop - i.e. there's a chance your ad will be on that page anyway for free - why pay for it? I really try and stay away from doing it, seems redundant to me.
If its on topic or would bring lots of visitors I would Go for it anyway (if its a good price). Not everyone is running coop/ LV ads. IF you really interested in advertising in the site you could see if the webmaster would remove the coop (probably expensive for you). Some might do it so might not. One of the sites I'm selling link dont have anything, and another don't have lv or coop in the main 4 pages.
I removed Coop links from a few of my sites that accept advertising as they seem to get a higher price. From my point of view, though, I would still do it but many seem to share your point of view GuyFrom
I'm not saying I haven't done it...I probably have. I'm just saying that all things being equal, and since I'm already in the coop, I would buy ad space on a non-coop site before ad space on a coop site. I know not everyone is ruuning coop or link vault ads - this conversation is stricty about those sites that run one of the networks and sell ad space. yfs1, I don't really sell any links but can see how your statment about non coop sites getting higher rates when selling links would be true. Any other people selling ad space see the same trend - higher ad rates for non-coop/link-vault sites?
