This is really a tough question. While Google likes to regulate traffic that will give you false impressions. You can not always control what others put on their site. So I know for a fact my site has lots of incoming links from adults sites. But these are mostly all natural TEXT or banner links.

Now here is the BIG but.... If you are buying ads from these sites it is very important to know that many of the advertising methods used by adult websites may go against the T&C like loading your site in an popup, forced redirect or incentivized(sp?) clicking.

Also links from sites like this will effect you Google SERP listing. They consider links from "BaD neighborhoods" as a excuse to lower your website or even remove it from the SERP. However I do believe that if you are buying traffic this may not matter in the slightest.

It really has nothing to do with false impressions. Google just likes to give the outward appearance that it is "against" adult content on the web. And FireStorm, you should have realized this, man. We told you you were going to get into trouble by associating your Adsense account with Adult Sites...

To be more secure and to avoid being at risk of being banned , i will advise everyone not to buy ads from adult sites ... This will result in invalid clicks .. and your account will be banned.

Ok--- While I searched for an answer on this issue. It really got me thinking of all the hundreds(maybe thousands) of sites that link to my website. And I have been looking at my logs(just todays) to see how some of these oneway links have come about.
3 of them(out of 100 that I got through checking) are off adult sites and bring in quite a bit of traffic. They are delivered by user clicks on a link on the adults websites "links page."
During this hunt of my logs I found three sites that opened my site in a pop-up window(these were non adult sites). I would like to email the owners of these sites and ask them to remove or change the link but 2 of the e-mails came back undeliverable and the third has no email and private whois.
So it is really tough for me to grasp the concept of us being able to control these other sites. If the traffic is unsolicted(and that is what everyone of us is hoping for) how the heck can we even know where unless we spend hours reviewing logs.
Google does make it clear that when buying traffic this is what you should look out for. So maybe they overlook it if it is just a "good job" link.

Edit:Oh and if Google wanted to give the Appearance they were against ADULT sites then they should remove the adult links from the search engine.
And when you use the google for search box on your website and ad units they will often link to Adult sites.
I still think, in the long run, they are losing out on so much revenue by blocking non illegal adult activity. But it is google choice.

One-way links aren't a problem. As long as you don't link back to that site, Google realizes you have no control over who links to your site, and doesn't penalize you for it.

I agree, else it imposes too many restrictions for the webmasters.
