buying a site for backlinks?

    I have searched on this and can't find anything...

    Can anyone tell me - is it possible to buy a website and then just redirect all the pages of the site into your primary site to essentially transfer the backlink profile of the newly purchased site into your primary site?

    Wouldn't this be easier than building links in many cases?

    Imagine if you have 1000 website redirecting to your main website. I don't think the SE will see it is something natural. And at the end of the day I don't think redirect and backlinks are the same thing. (Please correct me on this if I am wrong)

    Why can't u get backlinks from web directories or social bookmarking sites.They works.

    why trying to buy whole sites if you can just buy links, place for you banners etc.
