    Hi guys,

Like some advice on buying a domain name, see i found one that i like

but this guy who owns it want's to sell if for 5,000 US

Problem im faced with is copyright or even trade mark.

See for example we all know the film star wars, now what if you wanted

the name R2.com could the people who made this film come after you ??

Any advice would be most helpfull.

    Thanks

They would come after you only if it is well evident that you were trying to make money int heir name...
if u use this website for some other purpose the case wouldn't be as strong .. because it cannot be proven that it is being used in bad faith...

of course if you are trying to milk the name for star wars value there s the risk of law suits in it.. you never know, maybe they will never find out and it can be hugely profitable too...

    just my R2 cents... :)

    Thanks for your time,

Let me see if i can give a better example with out letting the cat out the bag
    per say.

So i buy the name r2.com

and spend all my time building a website the concept would be

Robotics and users can choose different types to use. now i dont talk

about star wars or the R2 guy but my site focus would be robotics

could i get in trouble?? See dont want to buy this domain then some one says you cant do this.
