    Hya,

I was just wondering as I'm currently in negotiations about purchasing a domain.

If I send payment, what do I do if they don't give me the domain? As technically there's no physical contract. I wouldn't be able to do anything would I?

What's the best way of doing this?

When you buy a domain name site should check to see if it is available. If it is they will take payment and set it up for you.

I have not heard of any site that is a good hosting company take money and not buy domain name.

If you use credit card or paypal you can stop payment if they do not buy domain name.

My guess is you are trying to purchase a preregistered domain, if thats the case then you would have to make a leap of faith.

First off make sure you send the payment through paypal and make sure that you mention in their invoice that the payment is for a particular domain.

Secondly make sure you save all the conversation between you and the seller.

In case they don't transfer the domain, you can open a dispute with paypal and ask for a refund.

Yep, sometimes you just have to trust the seller. Check their iTrader, posts, etc. to see if they are trustable
