Buying a domain name from someone else

What is the usual procedure when buying a domain from someone else ?

 

if you are buying a domain name from some one here in the forum , usely watch thier iTrade if they re honest 'that is first thing' , if it is out side of the forum escrow service is recommanded ( when you dont know the person it is alot safer to use escrow )

steps with trasted person :
1- send money to his paypal ,
2- he will push thedomain to your account say in godaddy or namecheap or... , if you dont have an account with the registrar where the domain is registraed at , you will need to creat one that way the seller can PUSH the name to your account and you will be the owner

steps with forgen people(not trusted )

1 - bouth agree to use an escrow service wel knowen ( sedo , escorw, greatdomain) the fee is 3% of the sell , you can arange to pay 50% and the seller 50% or you can let the seller pay 100% of the 3%

2- you pay the escrow service the money
3 he push or transfer the domain name to escrow service
4-escrow service push the domain to you
5-escrow service send the money - the 3% to him


that is it

Well I was wondering also, but I wanted to know a little different, if there is 2 years paid for hosting on the domain and it is established...when it is pushed, do I get the host plan still? Pushed at namecheap

 

a hosting is a space in hard disk of a server , them are 2 diffirent things , but if the seller will sell the doman name with the hosting plan wll what he have to do is give you the hosting account ,
but i dont know if he had the deal to buy the hosting and he get a free name in this case you need to contact namecheap and ask them

Depending on the price I tend to purchase my names through Paypal. However, larger priced names you want to use an escrow service.

 

Depending on the price of the domain. I will use Escrow services for anything more than $500. Paypal is ok for cheaper domains.

 

Thanks I understand the escrow serive part, but how does it actually push the domain ?

I have all my domains with godaddy, can the seller push from any registrar to Godaddy ?
