I suppose that is very risky to wait for the domain name until its expires. It might be grabed by someone. Bettr contact actual owner now and ask.

if it does in fact expire, then it will be avail about a month and a half from that date... you should backorder it if you really want to get it.

It could take up to a few months before you can register it.

It depends on who it is registered with. I have seen some hold on up to 90 days and allow a reclaim with a hefty fee. If the site the domain is on looks abandoned, you may have a good chance to get a good price. if the site was updated regularly, chances are they are planning to keep it.

If it's a good domain with PR, you'll have to bid in order to be able to get it. So forget the idea that you could grab it without anyone knowing.

Will take long time to be available after expire. This based on the registrar. Some good registrar like godaddy is keeping one month after its expire and keep sending email to the client for renewal. Once finish one month then they cancel the domain from the client and keep it for back order with "redemptionPeriod"

You need to wait at least 80 day before you can reregister the domain
