I tried to buy a canadian domain in the us, and no us sites sell them.

So i went to buy a canadian domain on a canadian registrar site, and it said i have to be canadian!

I don't know why people expect country TLD's to be open to all. The whole point of country TLD's is to be country specific and for residents of that country. Some small countries have little local demand and little economy so they sell domains to raise money but that's another story.
