So I know buying links is considered by many to be "heresy" or "evil" or "black hat" or whatever but here's what I'm thinking. If I bought 500 links for my website, I'd probably get it black listed, I get that. But if I bought them and aimed them all at some big site like mashable or autotrader it wouldn't have any affect right? So I was wondering what would happen if I bought 500 links or so and pointed them at my Facebook or LinkedIn profile?... Obviously they aren't going to wipe either site off of their spots in the SERPs but would they blacklist just an individual page?!? Has anyone tried this type of thing?
Who knows you have bought links from a person or a company. If you pay someone for links, it does not matter
In my opinion, I don't think so because it's not directed to your site and to think that facebook and linkedIn are big sites. Please make corrections for those who have tried this.
Why would you want to pay for links and point them to your Facebook profile? Buying links is risky but the worst than tends to happen is that the link gets discounted so you're paying for a link which isn't helping you. It tends to be the sites selling the links which get penalised, so you'll want to buy on sites that aren't blatantly selling links.
This is actually the proper way of doing backlinks. You dont direct it to your main site but instead to those web 2.0 properties. Which in turn link to your main site. For it to work though make sure the web 2.0 you choose is do follow. Have more, like free blogs etc. If you do it that way, actually 500+ links are kind of low
It would depend on how old your website is. If its rather new than you should stay away from something like this. If its say, a couple years old then I don't think this would do any harm at all.
How to buy 500 links. If you buy links in deep link pages, I donot think you have any problems. I bought 900 links for one of my websites without any help. (Forum posting, wordpress comments)
Busting the myth How would google and other search engines know the link has been sold or naturally placed there? Come on guys stop repeating the same shit and get down to action Obviously high PR links will give more link juice than simple forum links or blog comments that can also be deindexed in time.... not saying they don't bring any value.
If you consider your Facebook or LinkedIn page as your landing page, where you actually offer worthy services or goods then your way of thinking is Ok' Facing the fact that you'll never get so much trust on your own domain name, it's much more easy to dominate serp's using monsters like that. But then your company page should be as catchy as possible, it is not enough to add just basic info - pay attention to that. Otherwise - you won't get results you expect.
Ha ha.. i do understand your question.... remember.. your website is just another website to google.. but the relationship between google and facebook is totally different... its like hand in glove... They always have open agreements regarding their traffic... so if you point backlinks towards its goin to benefit them anyway... to say in one line, the way they treat us is different from the way they treat their partners....
if you could do for your website..that's very good for your website, lot of free data available on internet for some spent time.
Best way to get your site ranked for SEO is to do things consistently. The problem with buying 500 links is that you probably won't want to keep doing it every week. So yes - adding the links to a site with lots of traffic is much better. I would suggest writing an article for eZineArticles to publish then linking to the article would produce a better return for your money. Plus if you can add to the interest of your article enough to get it in top 15, auto-blogging scrapers are likely to pick it up so it get added to even more sites.
I would be weary of websites that try and sell backlinks in such large quantity. They are usually just spammy rubbish that won't account for much. I would suggest using a backlink service that creates small amounts of quality backlinks.
You can build 20,000 links to a webpage, and you won't get banned in the search engines, why? because if it was really that easy, then i could simply ban all of my competitors. Off Page SEO can not get you banned, and thats a FACT. if you build 500 links to 1 page in one go, then i would expect google to devalue them links as it will not look natural. Keep in mind that viral content can attract 1000's of links to a specif page in a very short time. Diversity is the key, especially with IP addresses.
I completely agree with that. You'll never get banned from creating backlinks but still having quality backlinks will help you rank higher quicker
Have you ever had one of your Web 2.0 sites get sandboxed? Or do you not try to get your Web 2.0 sites ranked for keyword terms when you're buying links? That's great advice. I think I can manage using my Facebook Company Profile as a landing page relevant enough for some keyword terms. I just wanted to make sure my company site wouldn't just disappear if I tried it It's effective how? Good results in the SERPs?!? or what?
