~ Not to belabour the subject but did the Emperor bow first or at all to the president? This is not about being courteous but about subjugation. ~ We fought the war of Independence in order to through off the shackles of Imperialism and liberated ourselves form the little bastards and the Emperor of Japan can kiss our asses net time he drops by over here. ~ By the way, I do not believe we were bowing to them on the New Jersey for the signing day either.
This is why tHe world hates you. It's because you are arrogant blowhards. Being respectful is not the same as being servile, perhaps the sooner you realise that the sooner people will stop disliking you. Of course, now you will say you don't care if people like you, which will only go towards confirming your arrogance.
I just want to be liked... like you Stox. I want to be non-arrogant, like you! How can I be more like you? Do I have to kill a Chirstian? a Muslim? Speak in tongues? I want to use you as my role model so I can be less.... well.... American!
Again, you are confusing them, almost certainly deliberately. Culture is music, food, social traditions, clothing, language, greetings... Things you aren't forced to do. Demanding women do as they are told is not culture, it's oppression. It's no more "culture" than making black people sit at the back of the bus was. Maybe you can't see the difference because you have been raised thinking that wife beating, opression and child rape are aspects of your culture, which probably explains why these abominations are so wide spread in islam.
making a black man to sit at back of the bus is a way to show your superiority from black men, similarly having a 'culture' where you make others to bow before you is also a way show self superiority from others?
Republican President Richard Nixon bowed to communist dictator Chairman Mao. Keep digging that hole...
Obama got pwned by a midget! LOL Seriously, you guys care so much about your president showing respect to another leader? it's a non issue.
Nobody made him do anything. Your point is as facile as saying shaking someones hand is the same as forcfully segrigating women against their will. You are attempting to draw a comparison between two entirely different things, which is probably the only decietful and intellectually dishonest avenue available to you.
- Nobody made him do anything ~ Bowing to the Emperor is the point of contention as it implies the bowers recognition the emperor is 'Deity' among other topics and was required or failure meant death - Bowing to Mao is no way comparable to bowing to the Emperor of Japan. ~ Bowing out of courtesy, as equals, from a cultural point of view is indeed done through politeness and probably the Ann Landers thing to do but not necessarily what everyone might chose.
ofcourse he is obama ..do you think someone could have forced him to bow ... does it take a genius to guess that ? it was a symbolic act and following it obama endorsed the local traditions .. so if obama and mrs obama go to different places in a wedding as respect of the traditions of locals .. would you be OK with that? or will you still cry about it like a hypocrite ?
Bowing to the Japanese Emporer is not just tradition. One bows because one is in the presence of God. As a Muslim, would you bow to this god if you were in his presence? Regarding tradition, what if the tradition were to shake penis's, or eat your own feces? Perhaps something less offensive like a traditional toast with wine cultured in the blood of baby harp seals? How about sharing some dolphin/whale meat sushi? They have their culture, we have ours. I didn't see the Emperor give Mr. Obama a fist bump and then lock it in.
If they choose to, they can do what they want. Islam doesnt give people the choice though, it's ccompulsory Things like sitting separatefrom men, wearing what you are told, they are compulsory. What part of that simple concept are you having trouble with? Maybe the probalem with muslims is they can't tell the difference between choosing to do something and being forced to do it under threats of imprisonment, beating or beheading.
