in the bst section mianly under service section , lots of buyers post their requirements.... many freelancer(including me;) ) ,post to offer our service...
these theards are left open for long..... we never no if buyer has closed his offer or not

hence , plz make it mandetory for buyers to close the threads once they requiments are over....(or at least let them post says offer closed)

Its better if you report the thread (our own also) if you want to close.

He is not asking about himself..

He is saying that buyers should close their thread to decrease pain of sellers not contact them again and again.

    I dont second this.

Actually for anything of that kind, the best thing is to report the post to close the thread, by the moderators, or else this would go to some wrong effects, like closing of threads as wrong time etc.

In that case.. don't people usually ignore really old threads because they naturally assume that the offer is done with..

I know some people don't post "SOLD" because they're afraid of an infraction or something :p

People mostly don't see old threads much :( so no need for closing threads after the work is complete :(

i'm with OP. it should be seller's responsibility to report ended offers to mod requesting those threads to be closed. once in a while you get newbies bumping a "LIMITED 48 HOUR OFFER" thread which is 446 years old asking if it's still available.

But that doubles the workload for mods, imagine 2 days back u asked for it to be closed than come back say please open it, than mods open it , after few days u ask mod again to close . And if someone else wants to open it again cause new deal went bad again, mods open it again, i think mods need some space too. Be generous, just post bidding or sale is over no need to request everytime.

This should be something that us (users) can do ourselves. Save the mods some time, and a lot of members bumping old threads.

    I don't believe it's a "power" of any sort.

Being able to close/open your own threads would be very helpful for everyone.
