Buyers BEWARE when using Godaddy Push

    Hello DP members ,

Scam and fraud activities have increased in the past few days. I would like to share and warn you against getting cheated while buying domains using godaddy push.

I recently had paid an dp member. the forum is located at http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=2110379 for your reference.

You can see there 2 domains which are striked out. These 2 domains were purshased by me and the transaction was completed. No doubt that the seller there had pushed the domain name to my godaddy account.

Just after 2 days , i got the domain deleted from my account. I was in dilemma as to what has happened. I got a conformation mail and the domain was moved from my account without my permission.

I contacted the support team and i appreciate the help they offered me.They finally suggested me to mail for undoing any recent action. here is the mail i got from support team .
I then mailed the above said matter to and got to know that the previous owner had disputed the domain ownership changes. Here is the mail i received
Finally I had to give up because Any further dispute would probably is an teadyous job involving courts, etc

I have contacted the seller but have not yet received any response from him. Its hard to believe people cheat others for penny price and cant understand as to what food they eat and what background they are from. These people are like virus in our environment.

You may be wondering as to why i am writing this post ?

Its just to bring to your notice few tricks used by spammers. I would like to share few and make you all aware.

    Whats the actual trick ?

The domain he pushed to me was expiring very soon. He had expected me to renew the domain as i had purchased it from him. His plan was that after i renew the domain, he would dispute the domain and get the domain back. So its clearly a trick where he is RENEWING HIS DOMAIN NAME FOR FREE and I AM PAYING FOR RENEWING HIS DOMAIN .

    SOme godaddy facts ( New ) :

When an owner pushes a domain to some other account, he will have 15 days to undo his action and just a mail to can make him get back his domain without any charges. So the second owner here will ONLY BE NOTIFIED THAT THE DOMAIN HAS BEEN DELETED FROM HIS ACCOUNT without consulting the second owner ( buyer ) .

So friends be alert while dealing with buying old domains using godaddy push.

Note : My intention here is not to show my anger towards the dp user friz54 , but to alert all other dp members to be more careful when coming across spammers and frauders.

At least they should talk to new owner!

I found this policy stupid, because a lot of spammers will use this to scam buyers...

Only thing we can do is to ask money back on paypal and to report this user!

This is why at my registrar - linked to in my signature - we offer FREE domain theft protection along with a variety of other free services in combination with the cheapest domain registration. :) GoDaddy is ridiculously unethical and condones fraud.

If you are buying or selling valuable domain names use escrow for your safety always. Valuable means 100$ for some and 20$ for some other... but be aware of scammers always. Also you can ask for a mail from the seller that explains as follows; it will help later on...

I, "EMAIL ADDRESS of SELLER" sold the "DOMAIN" to "EMAIL ADDRESS of BUYER" via "PAYPAL ETC" with the "TRANSACTION NUMBER", I hereby conform all the details are true and I am not going to ask for any reversal regarding the ownership transfer of "DOMAIN NAME".

Well this is why I transfer all the domains right a way. I never had a problem with namecheap.

I'd like to clear out that yes ameen01 has bought the domain from me. But I also have bought those domains from somebody else. Here you may see my post from this forum.

Two of my domains also got pushed back to previous owner
    PlantingVegetables.net 3/19/2011
    RelaxationExercises.net 3/20/2011

This is the first time that I had such experience and currently trying to solve this problem with previous owner. I had refunded ameen01 money btw, just in case the previous owner/original seller walk away from this issue so let it just be my only loss.

    EDIT Forgot to give correction

you bought 2 domains from me, only one got reversed to previous owner.
Check whois.sc, one domain I sold was Discreditable.com expired 3/9/2011, still stated the owner is you.

    http://who.godaddy.com/whois.aspx?k.../bB4&domain=discreditable.com&prog_id=GoDaddy

You still have it because that domain I bought from different owner than the other one.
And due to that, I only refunded half of your money.

I have the same assumption to the real owner

Well, I have received refund from friz54 . I believe it has caused inconvenience to both of us but will this surely help others to be more careful. And i apologize you friz54 if i was wrong about you. but you could have told me the matter before itself. The matter had been unnoticed for more than a week and i only got to know about it accidently when i had logged in to my godaddy account. If not i would had been still unaware that the domain has been deleted from my account .

I had hold a detailed talk with the godaddy support wherein they told me about their undo policy which i was unaware before. Then only i got to know the extent at which the policy can prove to be advantageous to the spammers.

I should thanked ameen01 actually, because if he wasn't noticing, I wouldn't even realized my domains have been pushed back to the owner.

Anyway, the guy who sold those domains to me has been banned from the forum, you may see in the thread, there are 3 other people who faced the same problem with me.

I have filed a dispute with godaddy and paypal, hope it will sorted out soon and hopefully it will give a lesson to a fraudster like him.
