Buyer cancelled escalation claim - Am I safe?

Hi there, a buyer purchased some non-tangible items off me (virtual items) and as soon after I gave him the goods, he made a claim then escalated. I persuaded him to cancel the claim because it will effect my business and he did so. I was reading up on paypal then once a claim has been canceled by the buyer, then there is no going back to get any of the money back. Is this true? I am really worried he'll end up with his money back as well keep the goods I gave him.
    thanks

The buyer cannot reopen the Paypal case, however, if the payment was sent direct from the buyers credit card he can still issue a chargeback with his provider and have the funds returned to him- Paypal does not offer any seller protection against this for virtual items.
