    Hello Guys,

I just wanted to let you guys know about some of those so-called online help from SEO companies.

One in particular I dealt with, asked me to pay a certain amount to get my site submitted to all these search engines. They said it would take about 2 months to see my website climb up the ranks. Then, after I paid, I called tech support and they said that with the plan I had, it would take 6-7 months to see any changes, and purposedly used a lot of tech lingo to confuse me and then presented me with another plan, that if I paid this much more, I would get guaranteed inclusion.

Anyone else have similar experiences or can tell me where I can get legit help without spending thousands? What about those SEO courses out there? Any good ones?

    Thanks

    Marc

    Hi, Marky,

even if they really registerd you in all of those SEs, it has almost nothing to do with the results you will achieve in those SEs when people search for some phrases.

Getting in the SEs indexes gives you certain chance to be found, but it is not an automatic thing.

It´s like with the "usual phone number directory". You get to the list as the 283rd in the order, for "refrigerator repair chicago", the users of the "usual phone number directory" first get to the "refrigerator repair chicago" category and then start to search within. For you it is the best to be one of the first 10 within that category.

It´s a huge difference between being listed and being found in the list, you must understand that.

Sorry to hear of your bad experience.

What you can do is read online tutorials, chat in forums (like Digital Point) and you can learn alot. Many of the seasoned pros learned SEO from hands on work and from forum posts and opinions. There are alot of online resources, books, and tutorials that can help you weed understand the process and form a more educated decision when selecting companies to work for you. Its always worth while to spend the time researching the industry.
