I am not Staff nor Moderator but I would try to help you as I could.

A) To create THREAD in BST (Buy/Sell/Trade), You just need to choose these options:

1. Being Established Member by getting 3 likes from three Different Established Member.
   The help section located in This URL stated "You can create threads in the Buy, Sell or Trade area" - after being Established Member.
2. Being Premium Member by purchasing Premium Membership.

B) Creating Post in BST.
Everyone could create Post (not THREAD) in BST after registered in this forum.

Actually, DigitalPoint has two sections or MarketPlace:

1. Digital Goods Marketplace which can be used without any 'likes'. However there are some requirements such as 'Linked Business PayPal account' (to receive payment) and have outstanding membership status (the 'rules' may changed over times. Mods know better than me).
   Tips: Digital Goods MarketPlace is the place to sell Digital Product. There is fee to use it.
2. Buy Sell Trade Area (well known by the name DigitalPoint MarketPlace)
   It is available only for Established and Premium Member only.
   Tips: While most areas are available for Established member, some areas are exclusive for Premium Member only (Other Category is one of them).
