I've received an infraction for posting in Buy, Sell or Trade forum and I didn't have enough posts to do it.

Don't stop reading!! I'm not going to complain! ;)

I read the rules almost everyday, because I am a new user and is very easy to do something wrong. The point is that I read this at the rules/faq section:

That sentence about permissions activated made me think that if I couldn't post somewhere I will receive a permissions error (like signature when you have less than 10 posts). In fact, I am a vBulletin advanced administrator and when I read that it couldn't take up to an hour, I was sure this was controled by automatic upgrades of user roles.

So my suggestion is to erase that sentence or control that with vB permissions.

    Kind regards,

If you knew the rule, which obviously states you need 25 post, and you obviously do not, cause right now you only have 22, why would you post anyway?

And vBulletin runs on PHP, and in PHP, you can code to do lots of different stuff.

I believe I read Shawn say once that it only runs the job if you have logged on that day, and I assume it uses a Cron Job - otherwise yes, it would be automatic.

It's good to see people scouting for what's wrong, as that gives room to improve. That is very much an implorable endeavor, and an attitude you should keep with you.

In this case your inference is incorrect, at least from my knowledge, that it is not an automatic user class upgrade. I believe this is done to save resources.

Right... you posted something that *should* have been in Buy/Sell/Trade, but you put it somewhere else since you didn't have the permissions to put it in the right place.

LOL you are right. In fact, I've read I starting writing that I was not sure if that post should be in the trading forum.

Infraction accepted and suggestion sent. :)
